Writer's Tips!

These are NOT the only tips for writer's. These are just some that were shared with me.
  • Back up your work. Backing up is important. Use whatever means you have or like. Back up every day or at least once a week. BACK-UP SUNDAY is a good habit to get into.
  • Read, Read, Read... reading expands your creativity.
  • Use a thesaurus
  • Remove excess adjectives
  • Use character actions rather than he/she said.
  • Avoid long, drawn out sentences.
  • Write 1st draft without editing
  • Find your best time and place to write. Stick to writing then.
  • Work on a computer without internet or refrain from checking Twitter, Facebook, email and blogs.
  • After editing, read aloud to catch awkward sentences and other errors
  • Write longhand a few sentences of a favorite book. This will help you get into the style and genre you are entering.
  • Keep fit. A fit body supports creativity
  • NEVER give up
  • Start a blog
  • Socialize with other writers. Twitter is a good place.
  • Use word sprints. They can be found on Twitter
  • Participate in NaNoWriMo and CampNaNoWriMo
  • Lack of inspiration? Search Pinterest for something to do with your work.
